COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PHYSIE.

How old does my child have to be to do physie?
Girls can start physie from 3 years of age in the preschoolers’ class. This class teaches some of the foundation skills of physie including rhythm, balance and coordination as well as giving opportunity to develop social skills and confidence

.Am I too old to do physie?

You're never too old to do physie! Many ladies continue to do physie well into their 80's. You don't have to be very fit or flexible; there is something for everyone at physie.

Can I or my child start physie part way through the year?
Yes! You can start physie at anytime in the year. The routines are taught from the beginning of the year with lots of revision throughout the year. There is also an instructional video available that can assist with practice at home. All competitions are optional so if you start later in the year there is no pressure to compete you can just have fun in class

.What should I or my child wear to physie?

There is no uniform required for a physie class. Just wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move, like footless tights and a singlet or t-shirt. The club sells a range of clothing with the club logo on it. No shoes/ballets are required for physie; all classes are taken bare footed

.Are there expensive costumes to buy?

No. If you or your child wishes to participate in competition you will need to buy or hire a BJP leotard for the day. You can purchase them new from Danz Design (see links page) or you can buy a second hand one from the clothing market at the club.

.Will I have to learn how to become an expert at hair and makeup?

No. BJP has strict rules about junior competitors grooming. No fake tan, nail polish, teased hair, glitter or false eye lashes for all girls up to 14 yrs. Senior girls and ladies do have a more sophisticated look when competing.
